Changing the encryption type between Control-M/Server and Control-M/Agent

This procedure describes how to change the encryption type from Blowfish to AES 256 between Control-M/Server and Control-M/Agent, which encrypts the passwords between them.

Before you begin

• Install Control-M/Server 9.0.00.400 or higher
• Install Control-M/Agent 9.0.00.300 or higher

To change the encryption protocol:

1. Open the PROTOCOL_VERSION parameter, as described in Defining Control-M/Agent system parameters.
2. Change the value to 12.
3. Select the Control-M/Agent, right-click, and select Ping.

   The Control-M/Agent's protocol version is entered in the Control-M/Server's Communication Protocol Version and now uses AES 256 encryption.
