This procedure describes how to change the JRE package from the default installation to a custom package in Control-M/EM.
You can install the supported JAVA Runtime Environment and replace the one that is installed by default. BMC verifies major releases of JRE provided by Oracle and Azul only if you have a third party support agreements. The use of JRE is supported only where the major release version is the same as the tested version. For a list of supported versions, see Product Availability and Compatibility.
To change the JRE package:
Do one of the following:
UNIX: Do the following:
Edit the set_java_home file in the $EM_HOME/bin/directory
Define an alternative Java home directory by modifying the value of the parameter EM_JAVA_HOME to the external Java path.
EM_JAVA_HOME={new JRE Path}
Windows: Do the following:
Create the environment variable EM_JAVA_HOME and set its value to the location of the new JRE.
Add %EM_JAVA_HOME%\bin\java to the beginning of your PATH system environment variable.
Copy the following jar files from {Installation CD Image}\Setup_files\3RD\JRE_libs to {EM_JAVA_HOME}\lib\ext:
