Defining a parameter for web services

This procedure describes how to define a parameter when defining an operation step for Web Services.

To define parameters for Web Services:

1. Select Specify parameters.

   A list of generated parameters appears.

2. Add a value to the parameters by clicking and select one of the following:
   • A previously defined parameter from the list
   • A new parameter by selecting Create Parameter and then click one of the following:
     • In job form
     • In connection profile

     The Add Parameter window appears and type the parameters, as described in General parameters.

   NOTE: After defining a value, the parameter may appear in the Designer area. For more information, see Job type designer.

3. If you want to add parameters to HTTP Headers to a SOAP request, from the Advanced Options field, in the Headers field do one of the following:
   • Click and select the parameters as described in step 2.
   • Click .

     The Insert Parameter window appears and do the following:

     1. In the Key and Value fields, add parameters by clicking as described in step 2.
     2. Add the parameter by clicking .
     3. Click Generate.

        The parameter appears in the Headers field.
