Defining a Control-M for SAP PI job

This procedure describes how to define a Control-M for SAP PI job, which enables you to control SAP PI communication channels.

Before You Begin

Ensure that you have met the following requirements:

To define a Control-M for SAP PI job:

  1. From the Connection Profile field, click Browse_new.

    The Select Connection Profile dialog box appears.

  2. Select the connection profile that you want to use to run an SAP PI job, and click OK.

    The Connection Profile field is set.

  3. From the Action drop-down list, select one of the following:
  4. If you selected the action Check status from the Expected State drop-down list select one of the following states:
  5. (Optional) From the Party field, click Browse_new.

    The Select Item dialog box appears.

    Select the Party from which to search for the relevant channel and click OK.

    NOTE: If the field is empty, the specified channel is searched in all parties.

  6. (Optional) From the Service field, click Browse_new.

    The Select Item dialog box appears.

    Select the Service from which to search for the relevant channel and click OK.

    NOTE: If the field is empty, the specified channel is searched in all services.

  7. From the Channel field, click Browse_new.

    The Select tem dialog box appears. The channels listed are filtered according to the Party and/or Service selected.

    Select the relevant channel and click OK.

    NOTE: Asterisks can be used to control multiple channels in the same job.

  8. Do one or more of the following:

    NOTE: The Control-M job ends only after the channel is closed.
